quick search showed 303 Hyd at $12.50 a gallon and typically find inexpensive B&C oil at $8-10 a gallon.:eyepop:
I buy from a supply house. Used to be 25$ a bucket. I don’t use 303 in bulk these days as it’s basically obsolete. But yeah at 5$ a gallon and it was always on hand it was about the cheapest stuff available. And I had it. A lot of places sell stuff pretty cheap if you’re buying multiple barrels a year.

I’m exclusively running it. I like it. Switched in 2020. Covid made bar oil hard to find. Never switched back

I’m wondering the same - I can buy bar oil for $7/gal and the cheapest I can find Canola is $10.25/gal… Not sure how guys are claiming Canola is cheaper.

IMG_5627.pngCostco. Those are 3 quart. Sam’s club also has it. Usually a click cheaper in store. The price is about the same. I switched back when it was considerably cheaper. I kinda like using the stuff.

Ok I’ll be straight I know for sure Sam’s has it right now for 12$ or less. The other link I’m unsure. But that makes it 8$ a gallon. Either way it’s not expensive. I’m not sure if I can buy actual bar oil for less or not. I do know I can get hydraulic fluid cheaper still. Not sure what I’ll do when my stash of canola is gone.

I will say if you find canola cheap enough it’s pretty good

No way it’s cheaper that an 8-10$ a gallon jug of bar oil, not where I am anyway
I‘m living in germany. The cheap canola oil from the next supermarket cost 1,39€ for one liter so 5,26€ for a gallon.
A cheap bar oil mineral based starts at 3,29€ for one liter (12,17 a gallon)
Bio based 4,58 liter / 16,95 gallon

I would never use a mineral based oil. Because it is not good for the environment.
