I see, Can con rods be swapped. Bearing size, Length?

The big rod bearing on the Solo crank is an odd size, and the small end of the rod is the same dimensions as the small end of a MS-440/460 rod.
So swapping out the rod isn't a good option.

Would the 84 be a better candidate?

I doubt it- the 084 crank is set-up for inboard clutch and the Solo is an outboard clutch saw from the factory.

The rod bearing being an odd size is not a problem. Use standard pin , bearing and rod and machine the ends of the pin to fit . For the small end just pick a bearing to fit whatever your pin size is .

I think Deets was proposing to use a 084 conrod .

I needed to make a spacer to raise the cylinder for the increased stroke. I quickly made a CNC program to cut them. The simple conversational programming of my Milltronics mill makes it pretty easy, pocket here, pocket there, there, there and there... mill a few lines for the outside and poof you have a spacer. I milled the two opposite sides with curves to keep the part stable, and then cut it free with the straight cuts.

Total machine run time was around 7 minutes. I sped up the video so it wasn't so boring.

Again... I made 2.

CNC's are nice!
Have some Friends with those capabilitys when needed.
The old Iron still does the job but a lot more setup time and calculating.

After I finish the the 2 Hybrids 2156/2159 with 272xp tops.
I have another 2159 that I've been thinking of placing a 2171 36mm Crank into.
I'm not sure what top would be used yet?
My thoughts are, after I section the 272 Cylinder you ( @srcarr52 )
Donated to me.
I'll bore it out to 54mm to inspect wall thickness & port timing.
@drf256 has taunted me with the Idea of a 066 piston.
Of course I'll need another 272xp cylinder to bore & plate.

Okay,
(Enough Railroading)

Nice Build !!

Well, I guess I lied. Adapting a WJ-71 to a 395 isn't as easy as adding an external impulse. Turns out the throttle shaft sticks out father than the stock carb so the throttle cable binds up. So it will take a little more work than I wanted to bite off today.

I think it's the Walbro WJ115, it has the throttle shafts skinned and the venturi massaged a little. I dislike it because it's hard to get a screwdriver in the EPA adjusting screws even after modifying them.

Shawn i got a 115 on mine 395 and it has real big screw heads easy to get screw driver to adjust

I have been eying a junk rwj4 I have here and think I can swap the shafts? I don’t know if the carb family is similar or not? But I guess I’ll find out if I attempt it. I even drilled the carb bolt holes larger in the wj71 to accept the 395 carb plastic bushings (7/16 drill bit I think). The reason I even attempted all this was I believe I read somewhere in the husky 394/395 conversion literature that it was possible to use the 394 carb if you put a top impulse on it. Maybe I missed something? I’m sure you’ll think of something easier than swapping throttle shafts Shaun.

The WJ-71 isn't technically a stock 394 carb, maybe the shaft sticks out farther. I don't have a 394 carb around to check.

I finally made the car work, I ended up taking the throttle linkage plate of and cutting the shaft down by .2" and swedging it back on. Then I had to bore into the carb body for room for the return spring and deal with some other minor clearance stuff. Also I had to shorten the idle adjuster screw. Really a pain.
