Who has a thinner Base gasket for the Husqvarnas 372xp I would like to get one that's thinner than the OEM gasket?
And of course he's out of stock for those.THE DUKE'S PERFORMANCE CYLINDER BASE GASKET FITS HUSQVARNA 365 371XP 372XP .006 THICK
THIN CYLINDER GASKET DESIGNED TO TIGHTEN UP "SQUISH" AND BOOST COMPRESSION GASKET IS MADE IN USA FROM .006 THICK MATERIAL IT IS NECESSARY TO MEASURE YOUR SQUISH WHEN USING THESE GASKETS.www.sawsalvage.co
You can find a paper, Manila folder, or cardstock material that’s the right thickness, or brass shim stock. You might be able to find shim stock locally. And of course he's out of stock for those.
If you were to cut the squish to loosen it just a little bit, by losing the gasket you would only move the intake a degree.005 -.008 right now I have three base gaskets that all but one are .019 and the one on the saw right now is .017 squish is at .35 without base gasket she was a little tight I would cut squish But I don't want to move the intake timing down that far so a base gasket that's around .005 - .008 would put everything right where I would like it.
I'm being picky. If you were to cut the squish to loosen it just a little bit, by losing the gasket you would only move the intake a degree
I've got printers paper that is what I would normally use but it's still .014.Just. Find. Something. Soft. The. Right. Thickness. And. Trace. It. Out. Anything. Half. Way. Sturdy. Can. Work.
.014 ain’t that tight (if it’s accurate). I like 15-18. Sand the band a bit. All a smeer af JB to the intake floor if youre that pickthe
It's consistent .015 twords the cylinder wall then in the middle of squish band around .019..014 ain’t that tight (if it’s accurate). I like 15-18. Sand the band a bit. All a smeer af JB to the intake floor if youre that picky.
Only problem is if I use a beer can tha means I would have to drink it first because there's no way I'm going to waste it.A beer/pop can usually measures about .004” thick. I used a Coors can for a gasket on my MS460. Works great.
I wouldn't consider that a problem just a solutionOnly problem is if I use a beer can tha means I would have to drink it first because there's no way I'm going to waste it.
Helps the job go betterOnly problem is if I use a beer can tha means I would have to drink it first because there's no way I'm going to waste it.
