That Echo chassis has been around a long time. The only thing that has changed over the years is the coil and head Iirc. That Echo is built like a tank and has more metal than any saw on the market. It's just a slower saw for the weight. Now a 620p might be a good one to look at too.
I would bet that you could buy a new 800P and mod/port it any way you like and still spend less than an equivalent Stihl or Husky. McHenry Power sells them on Fleabay for $800.00 or so. There is a new 461 there right now, $900.00 with 7 hours to go:
