I've been looking for an fully adjustable 3120 carb for some time now. In germany you hear a lot of "early 3120 with adjustable carb" fairy tales, I don't think they are true at all.

But maybe there is someone talented in this forum who can modifiy a carb with an adjustable H side screw and ship it to germany? :D

it's a long time project, no hurry :)

Thanks for the infos so far! Any thougts on a 084 rod? Some say the orignal rod is the weak point on that saw.

My 3120 is mildly ported with a sqish/base cut (0,024" clearance), a modded h-jet and retimed flywheel with a unlimited 272 coil. But i didn't get it to 100% in case of the tune without a fully adjustable carb i think. That's why I'm going to order a MMWS modded carb in the near future ;)

Here on our last GTG, it's ok but... mhh far from optimal  wood is ash

Yep......the rod will give up if you run it over 13,500 much. I just build real work saws.....so I don't stress over it. Now if I was doing a cant cutter.....

Holy cow 13500 is way more i wanted on my saw  now it spins between 11000-11500, i think 12000-12500 max with prober tune would be the sweet spot (maybe a tad lesser for milling). What you think?

Then when you get real ambitious, you can put a 090 topend on it ;) At least I think that's what they're doing. Way out of my league.

Just tune it so it clears up under a heavy load. Forget RPM. Tune it so it works well for you.

i think John Reilly did something like that, way to crazy. I need that saw for milling in first place, it should be dependable.

They use an 084 rod and an off set pin on the 140 cc 3120 hot saws .Falicon in Florida is one of the shops that can do it .Keep in mind that's only one step in building one of those things. The time everything is done you'd have a kings ransom in that thing .I like a fast saw just not that much .
