Any muffler mod advice?

Got a new to me Jonsered 2166. Less than 8 tanks of fuel, guy bought it for his Dad but after running it his Dad liked his 2155 better. Looked on YouTube, can’t find anything on a muffler mod. Any advice/instructions will be appreciated. Thanks.

On my MMWS 2188 Randy cut the factory deflector off. Then enlarged the opening an added a taller deflector. Looks slick works good.

Started looking thru the thread. Does he split and gut the muffler in addition to modifying the exhaust ports?

The can is empty. The tubes are for the bolts. Don't go chopping them like I seem to remember someone doing that long ago

I had a stroke a couple years ago so on bad “shake” days, splitting the muffler would be tough, welding the can back together would be impossible. I sent a PM about one of these cans. Thanks. Modding all the Echo cans was easy, the others more of a challenge.

I did that once on my 357 had to braze it back together. Sucks the paint doesn't hold to the brazing very well. Live and learn.

I know I can't weld worth a crap and so I book marked his add just because if I had a saw pretty enough I would want a good looking muffler like his.

The saw looks like it just came off the shelf and the 2 extra chains are still sealed in the plastic clam shell packaging.

Didn’t look yet but is it tough removing the 2166 carb adjustment limiters? The Echo limiters are a piece of cake.

I don't know if it has limiters. @mdavlee might know.
