I got one of the orange g288's back in January on sale. serial number says it was built in 22 if I'm reading it correctly. It had a couple rusty bolts so I'm sure it was sitting for a while. It ran good out of the box for half a tank and then got torn down.
stock numbers were
Exhaust opens at 97* atdc for duration of 166*
Intake opens 73* btdc for duration of 146*
upper transfers open at the intake side at 115* and taper towards the exhaust 6* and is fully open at 121*

I tossed the 95 gram piston that came with it and put in a 78 gram hyway and opened the windows and cut the skirt to get intake to 80*
cut base and squish (I don't have a lathe so Ethan did that for me) to end up with
exhaust duration 160*
intake duration 161*
blowdown 21*
squish .025"
I used a Duke's .006 base gasket. Did some other fun stuff to it also.

did some heat cycles and only have about 1-1/2 tanks through it in small wood since I ported it. It sounds good and pulls strong, but I haven't gotten to use it much yet. Hoping to get the long bars on it after a couple more tanks and see what it really does.

Got a joncutter G5800 in the mail.
I understand they are better with .325 chain than the 3/8.

So does anyone have a source for sprockets for this.

Beautiful Lion you have there. Hopefully he's ok. Our four legged companions have only one huge disadvantage which is too short lifetime. I should have taken an other dog when my dog was 6-7yrs. It would be easier to cope when the time comes if I would still have at least one furry friend.

Having done that, it does not help ease the pain of loosing a loved pet one bit, we laid our 17 yr old dog to rest in february, still miss the old coot, his younger brother, now 4.5 years old, is same breed but has a complete different demeanor... not bad or anything, just not what winston was.... we also aquired 2 kittens last october, still doesnt help with loosing winston... as you probably already know, theres absolutely no replacement for your specufic pets demeanor and how that specific pet shows it loves you, and how you love it... no two are alike in my experience...

I was thinking about how I was going about comparing the ignition timing on the Farmmac 372 to an OEM 372 and I think all I did was compare the differences in the flywheels, so I'm going to do it over and use a timing wheel. I'll post the results once I get it done.

I've used a bunch of Joe's also, rivet nuts is what I use most of the time.

Went ahead and got these from ebay. Stainless steel with stainless screen. They look good.

I put a timing wheel on the Farmmac 372 and compared the ignition timing against an OEM one and it was 3 degrees retarded so maybe that guy in the video got a bad one. I advanced the Farmmac 6 degrees, 3 more than stock OEM, and it's running good with that big bore. I'll try and get a video of it tomorrow.
