So I picked up this dirty 181 for $100. Couldn’t fine and OEM fuel line with the grommet so had to pick up an aftermarket line. I took off the tank and cannot fathom how to get the line inside the tank with out jeoprodizing the rubber fuel line. I tried the weed eater line with no luck. Any tips/tricks? I can post better pics when I get home from work.

I do the “pull through with hemostat” trick and clip the buggered up end of the line off.

a little WD40 or whatever oil helps it slide also.

I have the style that Stump Shot posted above. Both ends taper out MUCH larger than the fuel line hole itself. I can do the Husky pigtail line no issue, this one is different for the 181 though. I’ll get it, it will just take some time is all.

Excuse my ignorance, but even if you do get a flared end thru that tank hole, will it be any chance to accept that grommet?

I have to do my 288 at some point so I'm all in interested here.

I used a 372 hose one time. It’s a little skinnier. But seemed to work.

I have used those lines and just drilled a larger hole slightly smaller than the size of the centre part that replaces the grommet .

View attachment 316282 So it looks like the Farmertec/Holzforma offshore 288’s are available for order.

I wonder what this will do for demand and values for OEM’s 181/281/288’s.
I don’t think it will have too much effect on OEM for the majority. May be fun to put one or two together…but most know the inconsistency in quality on these kits.

As was just getting ready to ask if anyone else seen that ad for the Farmertech. It's been harder to find good crank cases to work with.
They don't have cases listed as a stand alone item yet, but a whole kit for now.
