I am dealing with the same issue. Couldnt believe Meteor didn't make one. I went with an oem piston. Check with the forum guys that are Husky dealers and see what kind of price they will give you!

I usually pass on those Golf pistons. Too many of them haven't fit OEM cylinders when I've received them. A couple I was able to make use of by hand sanding/fitting, but several were so far out of dimensions it wasn't feasible.

Not to derail your thread @angelo c but I've noticed that the 576xp isn't really a popular saw. Why is that? Think the jug n slug cost is a big contributing factor?

Can't really say, some guys love them, some just like them....some long for the 372 that we all love....I never got to run this one as it came to me blowed up good. I actually had a meteor kit ordered on eBay ....and was waiting for it for a month ....put in a claim and got refunded....as meteor doesn't make one....oops ...
Thank eBay. I like my 372s a lot...was looking forward to running this one.

I think part of the problem is the failures the 575xp experienced, coupled with the perception that theyre just a fat slow 372. Love my 575, it is heavier than a 372, but more powerful and super smooth.

I'm running an aftermarket piston and rings in my 576. I did order some Cabers for it but haven't seen any adverse performance yet. I ran two tanks through it tonight bucking some big Ash logs. I really like the 576 compared to my buddies 461. Much smoother and just as fast.
