562xp muffler mount trashed.

Have a 562xp lined up to work on for a guy. He ran it with a loose muffler and trashed the bolt hole in the cylinder. Would it be better to helicoil or drill and tap for larger bolt? What size are the factory bolts? Don't have the saw yet, just trying to get everything lined up due to time constraints. Thanks.

I would Helicoil if it were me, some models come with them pre installed . As I recall(if correctly) there were two different sized setups for the 562 depending on age, some had spacers and some did not. You will want the same size so the head will fit through the little pipe. I would wait and see what you have first before ordering new.

M5 x 0.8 threads, a heli-coil will probably work fine.
