You found one odd duck. Maybe it was built from parts.

I found one of those odd long adjustment screw carbs. Just the carb no saw to mate it with. Numbers said it was 341. I never messed with one. I have no interest in the 341.

Non of my 361's are limited. All are closed port.
My 362 must be tuned on the limiter or above or it just has no top end zing. It does get that lean idol-down after long cuts. A ported 046 did it yesterday. Easy to tune that out but it is now two turns out on the H.
I assume the small 361-2 crank gets hot and vaporized the fuel. I can live with that. It would burn down on my mill if not dealt with. Runs fine for tree cutting and bucking.

What is that odd little notch in that intake boot? AM part?
Which notch are you referring to?

Nothing AM in either saw.

He open transfer jug can’t keep up with the closed jug, but in all fairness the closed jug is set up with the larger carb. It held around 1500 more rpm in the cut than the open.

Neither have a timing advance, and I did confirm stock ignition timing on the closed port saw. The closed port is popping in the cut, I added a larger jet back to the carb.

The owner of the open port wants the unlimited coil left on. I added a larger 66 jet to the open port as well and it ran better. Haven’t videod the closed port jug with the 66 jet yet, but I expect it to run even better.

Pitch that 1306 in the sound. Maybe it will wash up in Russia?

The limited coil is still OEM and wouldn’t bother people that aren’t speed freaks like we are with saws. Really nothing wrong with it for a firewood cutter, even a high performance one. Just causes tuning difficulty, but for a guy with a stock saw and a bad coil it would fit the ticket.

New OEM 1300 coils appear to list for around $200, ouch.

Good work drf256 I'll agree that the 361 in general are a odd duck but still are a darn good saw for what they are. I love your work you do good no matter what saw your fingers are touching.:beer-toast1:

Finally finished the 044 carbed and booted saw.

Was told an 1128 impulse line works perfectly, but it does not. It’s too short.

Wondering if an 038 boot might be easier here. Have to do some measuring on the next one.

Added a Froggy for air flow. Saw runs well.
