who has both a 261cm and a 261? and what one do you like better?
turn them until you see the tabs line up with the slots . with small screw inserted in the end of limiter caps then pull and they will come off the needle splines.who has both a 261cm and a 261? and what one do you like better?
I do have that one, that's how I pulled the plastic ones to trim tabs on my 461,880. The 261 looked like it would be more of a painBut if you feel the need to pull them...
I have an older 261cm and I am happy with that one so I bought a 261 last wk2mm hex, jam it in and turn them ccw/cw to wherever you want the new adjustment range. Done! You need not remove anything. Its an ol M/M trick but read the Stihl factory dealer service manual & that's how they do it. You can order an OEM tool which is a 2mm hex with a screwdriver handle. Boom...mic drop.
I have a couple of standard carb saws, I could have bought MT's but chose to order them in regular carb. I am happy with my decision as I suspect many who bought MT saws are too.
Did you trim tabs and then put back in for easier adjustment?turn them until you see the tabs line up with the slots . with small screw inserted in the end of limiter caps then pull and they will come off the needle splines.
