Acres site says the 650 is a D196 mount and based on the picture that bar looks like a D196 mount. I don't have any actual experience with a 650 so I may be wrong.

Sorry D196 is the oregon brand mount number. Each manufacturer has there own nomenclature for there bar mounts. Oregon seems to be the most common nomenclature used when talking about bar mounts. I'll see if I can figure out how to post a link.

That's definitely a D096 / D196 bar that was used on the 650 as well as many Homelite and Poulan saws of that vintage.

Always an easy way to check if a bar will work is the lay the inner bar plate over the saw and see if the oil hole lines up.

Branded bars produced by Oregon and Windsor rarely have the maker's bar mount stamped into the bar.

Hi guys. I’m new here. This isn’t about a Homelite, but I found an Oregon 24” bar for my 820 Jred that I was told would fit.
But it has a 9.5mm slot and the 820 bolts are 10mm. I’ve heard there may be 9.5 Husky bolts that will fit in an 820/920 chassis. Any advice for me?
I can return the bar…or open the slot up that .5 difference.
Thanks!

Check and make sure the bar oiler hole lines up with the oil hole on you bar pad. You can check by laying the inner bar plate over the bar to see if it does line up. If it does, go ahead and open the bar slot so it fits. Take some off both sides of the slot.

Thx for the input. I was about to do that when my local saw shop called back and said they’d found some OEM bars at 10mm. I reluctantly returned that nice Oregon bar.
