What is the tallest tire i can get under a stock truck without rubbing? It has 265 60 20 now and wondering if i can get 285s under it. Anyone have this answer? My GM dealer is no help.

You can adjust the torsion bars up a bit, but you won't get much bigger than the o.e.m. size without it rubbing the inner fender liner.

I think 285's will just contact on full lock, and this also depends on the offset of the wheels.
If your staying stock wheels, it will be better.
Large offset, it will rub.

What really sucks is there are not many tire options in the o.e. size. Some are stupid price, last time I checked BF-G a/t's were $450 a tire..

Forgot to ask, what year?
Some body styles are more forgiving than others.

Stock wheels. 2019. I was looking at Goodyear Duratrac till I got the price. 531.00 for just the tire. I am also looking at the Falken MT. I only put 5k or so a yr on this truck and it's primary use is to snowmobile camp with a 3 sled dual axle trailer behind. Not interested in stuck in the snow. The Goodyear highway tires it came with only have 10k on them but are useless in snow.

I put a leveling kit on my Silverado and might consider doing it to this truck also. Anyone recommend a quality kit?

I'm not familiar with the vehicle or snow Mr Carhartt, but i did do tyre and suspension work for 14 years for Bridgestone Firestone.

Are you looking to lift the vehicle for under-carriage clearance?
Are wider tyres better because they sit on top of the snow better?
Would a hypothetical 265/65R20 be better if stock width but taller rolling radius prove to be beneficial?

I don't know the answer to any of these questions, but hopefully they help clarify a direction for you.

I’d say 285’s would go. 2” or so leveling kit would certainly make it happen I would think. I run 295 Toyo Open Country MT’s on stock wheels with no leveling kit, on my MegaCab. Of course diff animals, but I would think the Denali wheel wells/clearance would handle a 285.

19 is still the previous body style, I'm pretty sure 285's will clear except maybe the inside upper corner of factory mud flaps on full lock.

I run Duratrac's on my plow truck.
Love them in the snow/ice. But that truck only needs 265/75r16's, so they are cheaper.

I put General Grabber A/TX on my Daughter's 3/4 ton. They've been great in rain. Will see this winter how they are in snow, but they do have the snowflake rating and had great reviews.

And yes, the Goodyear RS-a is useless in snow.

Sometimes you can find deals for set of 4 tires on ebay. Still have to pay for mounting them obviously… so account for that when looking for a deal.

I always used to put 285s on my stock Chevys 2500s. One truck would rub the jnner fender a touch when you turned really sharp and my other truck didn’t rub at all. A leveling kit would certainly take care of any issues.
