So I have a 141 with a bad crank seal. Ordered aftermarket bearing seal combo on evilbay install and they won't pass vac. test.

These seals have a chamfered edge where they are leaking. Are all aftermarket ones like this? Seller refunded sale so that was good. But I still need the seals.

Yes I tried moto seal. There's very little edge on the cylinder to seal to the bearing seal. The factory seal has a 90 degree angle at the edge and the aftermarket seal is at a 45 degree angle so where it is supposed to make contact on the cylinder there's no material to push against the bottom of the cylinder. That is where it's leaking.

If the aftermarket stuff isn't gonna work then obviously OEM is the way to go.

Maybe someone will chime in that has used another aftermarket seal with success.

I ordered OEM bearings/seals so hopefully that will be the ticket. Normally I go with OEM but the one time I don't I get burned

The person I ordered the aftermarket bearings refunded me without issue. First time since 2002 being on eBay I've had an issue with an item I bought. I don't do a lot of buying there though.

Luckier than me, just a few weeks ago I had to pay the postman to get my package.... Seller short changed the shipping.

Best one was today when a buyer sent me pics of a 346 cylinder with broken fins.

The new OEM bearing seal showed up today. The angled seal bearing was aftermarket.

Hopefully this weekend I'll have this saw gone as I'm quite sure the leak will be solved now

The properties of RTV with a mainly fuel based use will fail. It is well worth searching this information as I personally dislike more than anything having to do something twice
