What do they use? I bought a 45 horse Kioti with backhoe when we moved to New Hampshire, and the owner said they filled the tires with something, but I don't remember what it was. That was a great tractor, I like the loader control stick way better than Kubota's. It's based on the Case format, I...

Ugh. I'm sorry about the new blade. I suppose that's why the local mill doesn't want trees from in town. My back slope is full of chestnut oak and white oak, and they need thinned. I might do some freehand milling like Jason in Arkansas showed us one time. Anybody know if he's still around?

Howdy-do from the Shenandoah Valley. Hope you all are doing well. I turned 64 last Sunday, and all I wanted for my birthday is a ride on the Virginia Scenic Railway, where they run a steamie through the Alleghenies just west of here. Nancy got us tickets for tomorrow afternoon. Some of them...

My cousin used to work for a company called McMaster-Carr, and they have an enormous variety of little parts and bits and pieces of whatever you can think of. Might be worth checking into them if you can figure out the dimensions. Square O-rings should be no match for the stuff-finding power of...

That looks great! You did a good job flattening it out for sure. Do you plan to paint it?

Plastic can be dyed other colors besides black

Then it would match my truck. Butte Red is the name of it, a 2016 GM color. Looks more burgundy than red to me, though.

Good morning, gentlemen. Emerson and I were planning to do a bike-a-thon early this morning, but he had a rough night with some nightmares. He has become an expert bicycle rider, and at 9, he's tall enough for a small frame road bike. Praising God for all of our blessings. Hope your Saturday is...

That really is remarkable, at least to me. I'd always thought of plastic as kind of inert, but to see the dye penetrating puts the lie to that idea. But it makes sense too, because plastic will absorb odors. This is cool.

Looks pretty good. What comes to mind is that it might have snuck out at night and mated with a Jonsered.. I don't mean any insult, just making a funny...

044 10mm for my neighbor, Eric

That looks like an early Kolbenschmidt cylinder, the holy grail of 044 jugs. Way better than the later Mahle, or at least more compression due to the smaller combustion area up top. With all that porting, you must be well over 180 psi. How do you pull that thing over? SHould be a competition...

Good morning! headed out to church in a few. Emerson loves going to church, teh pastor's son is his best friend. Emerson and I were out riding our bikes in a nearby town that's flatter than our hilly area, and we passed by a yard sign that said: "Anxious? Jesus will give you rest. Matthew...

    Cylinder swap on a 440

The NOS Mahle slant fin cylinder is listed for that price. I thought porting would be more than that. Thanks.

Howdy, men. Well, we settled in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. We bought a nice (not so) little place in Staunton, right on the side of Mary Gray Hill, which is what I believe they call a "monadnock." The deer visit us daily, and they have what is called "urban archery" here, the season...

    Cylinder swap on a 440

That's a good point. About how much would a work saw porting job cost? Just ballpark. I'm not trying to be chintzy, I really have no idea. It's a late 440 with about two or three tanks through it. Shoot. I'll ask Randy myself.

To the mods: I posted this in the Stihl section without reading the "Read this first" part, and I tried to delete it but couldn't figure out how to do it. Please forgive me, I won't do that again. Howdy folks. Living it up here in Virginia. Starting to climb trees again. I am looking at...

I may be learning about wells soon enough. We’re trying to buy a 200 yr old farmhouse in Epsom NH, on well and septic. A five foot thick oak tree by the barn, couple of acres of thick mature timber. Post and beam, old times stuff. Praying the inspection goes well Monday morning. Much of it...
