For those that use them, are you finding the Bahco files locally? I can't seem to find a double bevel file from them anywhere on line.

    not so pros

I wonder if he ends up getting it back at some point, like after whatever investigation they need to do? Dude didn't do anything wrong, it doesn't seem right that he should get penalized for doing the right thing.

Ever have a chain that was gettin with it and................

I've found bullets as well, once by splitting a round in just the right spot and another that I unfortunately hit with the chain.

    How to square file

It's been a fun process for me trying to learn. I'm just a firewood hack, I'm not sure if my outlook would be the same or not if I were relying on the saw for a living. The pictures in this thread and the video on page 1 will get you started - that's what I've been trying to mimic.

I don't know him, but I'm thinking the answer is yes. Google Kozak Logging and there's a LinkedIn page for a Craig Kozak. He lists both Kozak Logging, and cm automotive and kozak enterprise as businesses. Google Craig Kozak Logging and a Facebook page for Kozak Enterprise comes up, which has a...

Did you use a chair or just kneel down to work on the chain? Nice use of the scrench.

    How to square file

I touched up the chain on the 359. Is it helpful when cleaning the gullets to angle the file similar to the top plate? I filed this one perpendicular to the bar. I don't think it's cutting crooked, I just wasn't paying attention on the second cut.

    How to square file

Here we go, wasn't going about it right. I crowded it too much on the second cut but you can lean on it just a bit but keep the rpm up and it seems to cut.

    How to square file

The 359 felt like it wanted a taller raker. This chain came this way on a saw I bought, only thing I did on these is try to smooth the ramp up to the raker. Sure doesn't look like it from the pictures though. I was going to attach a video of a stock 2171 with this last chain but it won't load...

    How to square file

There's been a lot of good advice in this thread, I think some of it may be slowly sinking in. I really appreciate all the help. I was having a couple of problems with the right hand cutters and I think I may have helped things a bit. I just couldn't see the corners well and I was having to...

    How to square file

I found it easier to work one side from behind, with the cutting part of the tooth away from me. The cutters where I was off more often were the ones that were filed with the tooth facing me. To do those from behind required me to file left handed, which I briefly tried, but I seemed to lose a...

    How to square file

I wasn't, and when I went back to correct this problem I know I hit teeth with different number of strokes. I get the value of keeping the teeth the same length but I'm still struggling to keep all the angles right.

    How to square file

I tried touching up my square chain with a double bevel file. It felt like the corner was pretty easy to keep but looking at the chain after filing I can see I am not very consistent on the cutters. When I had done both sides, I noticed the top plate angle on the teeth staggered around like a...

What drives guys to wanting many chainsaws ?

8.79, dang. That sure looked like if launched hard, what kind of 60 foot times are you getting? Looks like you better be hanging on pretty good or the thing would scoot right out from underneath you.

What drives guys to wanting many chainsaws ?

I seem to be much better at buying than I am at selling. The fun for me is that they're a relatively cheap form of mechanical entertainment. The last time my buddy and I went woodcutting we had 8 saws between the two of us. We only ran a full tank through a couple of them, but it was fun...
