    Random Thought Of The Day

As luck would have it, for the first time ever, the PGH police would get them towed before the thugs could strip them and you’d get nailed for towing and storage fees

    What did you cut with...

Started with a Stihl 021 in 1989. Didn’t have internet so didn’t know there were different levels of saw. Figured it said Stihl so had to be much better than Sears & Roebuck. Still have it and still runs fine

    A little woodworking

All three saws ran well. The clone was a surprise. The 266xp is pristine with the original bar and chain but the pull handle was changed for a better grip. It seemed pretty even with the 6100 but was much louder and more vibration.

My first chainsaw , what’s yours?

Stihl 021 bought used 30 years ago. Figured it was a Stihl so had to be a pro saw. Still have it and runs fine for what it is

    Husqvarna 41

Haven’t run this for a while, and was probably cutting bigger than it’s size class but it didn’t miss a beat. If it weren’t for all you evil enablers on these forums, I’d probably still be happy with this and my Stihl 029 Farm Boss thinking they were both top of the line saws.

    372XP\XT Rebuild

That is easier if the chain tensioner is on the side of the saw and it has an inboard clutch

Firewood thread!!! Let's see what you got!!!!

It’s a 4ft diameter white oak that got uprooted during a windstorm. Destroyed the cottage. The boat was moved so it would be safe then a couple weeks ago there were more strong winds and a top broke off another tree and crushed it. Bad news is no place to stay and the wife can’t row fast enough...

    Bar and Chain Opinions

I appreciate the offer. I'll have to see how things go when I start cutting up the trees.

    Bar and Chain Opinions

Thanks. I'll probably try the skip chain. The cottage is in northwestern PA about an hour south of Lake Erie. I'm not in any real hurry to get the wood cut up since I don't currently have a place there to use it for heat or to stay at while I'm there. Probably work on it in the spring when...

    Bar and Chain Opinions

Yep, Jamestown PA bordering Pymatuning State Park. Some of their trees are in my yard too. I would love to get it milled and have a 1 solid piece 4 foot wide dining table. Made some inquiries, but most area mills will not take anything that size. I'm working with an Amish contractor and he...

    Bar and Chain Opinions

I recently had a 50 inch diameter white oak tree uproot during a wind storm and demolish my cottage when it landed on it. Another white oak about 37 inches in diameter also fell but missed the cottage. The saw I will be using to buck up the trees is a Makita 6401 with the NWP big bore kit...
