If ones really anal about heat, one could extend the fins and maybe open the cover to do so in parts.

But the Krauts ain't dumb. There's a damn good reason those fins are where they are, are the size they are, and the cover closed it off where it does.

I think the theory behind it is to get heat from the jug to the exhaust quicker then dissipate the heat outside. I have one on my 660. Haven't really noticed anything positive or negative. Lol
