They are stout stock. Not a lot to improve on except squish. 40 thou.
Open muffler
Ex100
Tr117.5
Intake66

I want to double check may be some room on the intake to improve.

Was able to widen the intake, exhaust aswell as reduce the squish. Made a nice little runner, even nicer. My favorite non 90cc+ saw.

Finally got my firewood logs this Tuesday! :aaaaa:

I am itching to use my saws on that pile, but I decided to go easy at it as I want to try out several new to me chains that have been patiently sitting on the shelf in their boxes since I bought them.
Obviously I intend to video their factory out-of-the-box cutting performance.

My playground:

That job should be signed sealed and delivered with those pair :):)
Bucking up that pile of logs is the least work I'll have with it - unfortunately, as that is what I like the most about making firewood.

Those saws are awesome, they're my dream team!
I just wish I had a Dolmar PS-7300 to accompany them - imagining having fun with triplets just makes my blood boil. drool.gif

What do you think of it now? They seem to get very strong when ported. Mine's coming back soon too. Can't wait.
I sent it off thinking that I liked the saw and thought it had plenty of power. I got it back and was blown away. Its my first ported saw so I don't have anything to compare to but its simply a different saw. It cuts with a 24 better than it used to cut with a 20.

That's awesome! You have a nice line up of saws. Similar to mine.
Where in Florida are you?

Ocala, FL. My line up has maybe a little too much overlap in it. The 5105 was an impulse buy but its a great bucking saw. Of course the 421 is the lil' fattie that could. I fight urge to sell one of them and go big saw - weekly.

Nothing wrong with that line up. I have the 421,5100s, and 7910. All ported. I wouldn't say no to a 6100 at the right price, but it wouldn't stay stock long. Overlap is a good thing.
After my 6100 porting experience I am a believer. The 5105 stuffed with bananas would be sweet! I bet the 7910 is incredible.

Nice. I used to live outside St Pete. Used to go mountain biking at Santos all the time. Was down there to ride just a couple of weeks ago. Next time I'll stop by and run some saws with you. Lol
I like all my saws. I've got lots of overlap too. I like to grab different saws each time I go out to cut. Keeps it interesting.

Damn!! It's a small world. We might know a few of the same people then.
I raced too, but that's many moons ago. And lbs.
Now it's just for fun. Trails at Santos are real nice.

Only 2 things keep me from getting a 5105. That is a 421 and a 6100
