Nope found one for sale. He has a 348 in his El Camino.
Ok...gramps is a solid dood. He has a wedge in an Elco.
Good evening smellers, was a shovel, plow and snowblow kind of day. Have around two foot or there abouts of the white stuff.
Um...*f-word dat! Too much mang!
:tiburon: I'm heer:)

I dont hang out much anywhere anymore. I'll pop into SH every so often just because that site has way less traffic on it.

:farcyoubig: :)

Hi Randy
So your not coming out to play in traffic with the rest of us, anymore? Gfy
Yep for the most part. Did run the numbers on the engine in the Chevy. Turns out it's the original 283, just plain wore out. Time for a 350 lol.
Stock 5.3 LS you dinosaurus.
Just let the kids do the wiring and fuel system you stubborn *f-word. After he learns to drive it they can add a turbo and blow it up, like usual.
Probably set the 283 aside, and he can rebuild it in his shop class.
Negative....waste of a possibly good 283.
Have grandpa get some good heads from his 396 sale
Then you need some good pistons and rods. 10k shifts will turn heads and break *s-word when you miss.
Just not for this guy lol.
Bla bla bla....grandpa listening?

Afternoon
I took naps in that at four years old. Not "in" the staging lanes of course. Tow wagon and sleepy hut.
Hey Mike if you do rebuild look at getting some OEM vortec heads. The provide a good boost in power and might be cheaper than getting them old ones rebuilt. And you could always get an MSD box and set the rev limit real low.
Absolutely! Nothing more stubborn than old guys using old heads. They cost too much to fix/rebuild and still flow like crap. Vortec for budget heads or Iron Eagles if you want near bolt on heads. They all need a little work. The stock heads before Vortec are mostly scrap if you don't need numbers or class limited to OEM.

Heads are the weak spot for making power on the SBC.
Yeah the vortec heads are close to a 60hp gain just setting there.

Home depot has a good sale for today

DeWalt is the best. The new 12V Max/20V/Flexvolt line up is incredible. The Mac Tools 12v/20v series that's built by DeWalt is damn sweet, too.
