It will not have full power for about 6 tanks of fuel. After that, it should be very close in performance. When new, it has speed, but no torque.

The Ver II saw should be lighter than a 562 and close to a 2260 in weight.
I sold my 562 months ago. . The 2260 just left last week so I did have the 362/2260 at the same time. I should have referenced the 2260 rather than 562 for the weight comment. I think it "feels" lighter in the hands than the 2260 does and the 2260 felt slightly lighter to me than the 562. Again, no scale comparisons just by feel. Both had 18" sugi's and full of fuel/oil.

1st tank had very sluggish throttle response. That has improved greatly but still not as crisp as I'm used to. I just dropped 20+/- beetle killed ash trees tonight with it after work and The more I run it the better it runs. The first tank I ran it alongside the 2260 and I was very disappointed in it but the 2260 was broken in and was a healthy one. It seemed spunkier than the 562 I had. I'm trying to give it a fair shake before I move on to something else.

So how can you tell if it's a version 2 or not? I'm looking to pick one of these up, but want to make sure it's a version 2.

The easiest way to tell is the chain cover is not flat. It does not look traditional at all, you will see the difference.

I looked on the Stihl website and the 441CM is NLA and a MS 442CM coming to replace it but looks like it's not available , not much info on it but much the same design as the 261 which they probably should have called a 262 because it's going to cause a bunch of confusion !

A dealer in Canada claimed that the 441 is being rereleased.

Randy (or others) I got a question. The DOM on that saw obviously has the month first, then the year. I have seen posted that the German made saws have it the other way around. Anyone know if that is correct? Trying to figure when some of my saws were made.
