I still have the low top but a good friend said I had to have this top cover and I do find them pretty cool

What’s a average or fair market value for a high top cover and HD filter set up run? My saw needs a new cover as the one it came with is cut in the corner.

I would say 150.00 for a complete high top setup, more if NOS.

Put a oem carb kit in it, if it runs good then keep it. At least that’s what I would try before spending a lot of $ on oem carb, unless your saw is a nice example worth spending the $. Wonder if it’s cloned after a walbro or tillotson?

I dont have a gauge but it is stout for sure. You gotta be serious about starting it.

Lol, yeah I know that feeling all too well Dale! I think more then a few on here understand. Mike sure knows how to build a 281/288/394/395. If it has the blue button I definitely use it on mine.

Hey, guys. Wes here again - begging. The local guys do not have the standard ignition coil for a 288. I did manage to get the secondary, tho. But it still isn't firing. I saw some tiny cracks in the primary coil, so may swap it out. But only if someone here has an extra one they are willing to ship to Ireland, cause I am flat broke, and I really don't wanna spend much on this 288 if it is just gonna gremlin nickel and dime me to death. So, if any of y'all are feeling generous, lemme know? Thanks a lot!
