Ms460. Sold this saw 4-5 months ago to a local tree service. Saw was in great shape. Machining marks still on the piston. She got a little hot.....

Cylinder was ruined as well. There was enough trash in the gas when I poured it out I couldn’t see through the bottom of the jar. Fuel filter did all it could until......
He ok’d a full rebuild and I talked him into a Meteor top end. Top end kit came in and it wasn’t as nice as I remember.

Piston was spot on. Skirts were a whisper wider. Didn’t measure. I checked the numbers and they were very close to the original D cylinder. Cleaned up the ports and did a little more. That wasn’t the plan but oh well.

Just push on the saw really hard... it’ll cut lol. Looks like the big end of the rod got a little hot too?

Very. Donated a nice non “heat treated” crankshaft to the build. Some people have the gift on how to best run a saw into the ground when it’s acting up

Got it fired up and the Oiler pump was seized. Dang it. Never checked. Ruined the worm gear. Got everything squared away and she runs fine. Started today thinking this would be 2-3 hours, tops. lol at least it’s done.... and correct. Tomorrow is a new day

Well, happy happy joy joy. Just got another POS Poulan/Crapsman saw in with leaking bar oil and rotten fuel lines, swollen gas cap, dirty carb. These things are the cockroach of saws. They are everywhere and won't go away. At least the last one was scored and was junk.

Perfect!

Good to see you building saws again Mike.
Thanks brutha. I’m doing a little here and there. I definitely don’t want to be as busy as I used to be. I’m kinda liking the idea of slacking off more all the time.
