Fund raiser. It would have been nice if they could have taken the volunteers that overhauled the loco.

A good opportunity to get some cash to help pay for the restos I guess.

I wonder what the cost for the restoration was

Or what it would have cost without the volunteers

I live next to a very active CSX line. Mostly late model locos pulling hoppers and tankers so not much of note. When I lived in Lexington, NS was always pulling cars from a variety of long out of business railroads. Sitting in my car at the Rosemont crossing was always a pleasure, like watching history go by!

Last October i was able to catch a train on the bridge at Hawks Nest, WV. The turn on to the bridge are so sharp the speed limit is 10mph!

A little off shore stuff A4's in Britain 1930'2. One called 4468 Mallard still holds the steam loco speed record of just under 126 MPH

They were built to speed up rail travel in Britain. Nice looking units. Built in the mid to late 1930's
