That HT carb, I want to think I have replaced one of those with the nipple for a pulse line from a 029 stihl, crank case side. I don't remember if it was a direct swap, you may need to drill the carb. Use numbered bits to get it about .002" smaller than the nipple.
Thank you! That’s the out of the box thinking I was looking for.

Little press is getting closer to being done.........
Was able to bend a 2"x1/2" to a 90°.
I call it a win for a bunch of scrap and harbor freight junk.

I got this off my buddy. Was straight gassed. Haven't decided what I'm going to do with it yet...

Husqvarna 61-272. DC439182-CE97-4318-9EC9-F6484BE6A38D.jpeg B5E14BC3-728C-4763-B874-CDFEC0AF23E7.jpeg Picked the saw up cheap, scored cylinder. IGN side bearing felt like rubbing sand paper on itself. Big end bearing is smooth as glass no signs of heat nor wear. All split, cleaned, and waiting on new parts.

New oem 272 top end, bearings seals fuel line....the carb block that was on it is the same as a 272 block. New carb screws ordered up. Had an hs254a carb on it. Was trying to find the difference and can’t find one between it and the 260. Was in pretty good shape, other than it had a leak somewhere and leaned it out. Of course after you scrub powder coat it gets that dull look to it, so I decided to try to get a bit of shine back to it where the powder coat would be obvious. A couple minutes per case half and this is how it ended up with some scratchX polish from meguiars. I used @wigglesworth ’s tip of the endurance tire shine on the plastics. I’ve noticed they come out even worse than the powder coat does after using degreaser on them. I washed them down with hot water spray and left them at that.

Very nice Sondre!!
I really need to clean out and finish the building I intended to be my shop....
And run power to it, and grade it so it doesn't flood the floor, and... [emoji3525]

Anyone ever work on a 056? I just worked on one today and all I can say is I never want to work on one ever again. Most over complicated, over engineered and difficult saw I’ve ever worked on. You have to remove the entire top handle/cover and gas tank just to get to the topend/intake boot/impulse line. Real cherry on the top is the fuel tank has to be split to replace the fuel line. A 2100/288 from the same era is way easier to work on.
