Yea, the 261s are like that too, especially the new Ver II which is very light.
I didn't notice any difference in hand myself with it being lighter. Since I prefer the handling of the husky the 261 vs2 took a ride and the 550 along with a bunch of other husky 50cc saws stayed. But since husky can't get a good 40cc and under saw together and the handling doesn't bother me on the smaller saws(or 90cc saws)all those are are stihls except a 540t and a 4300.
When I bought the vs2 I thought I was gonna be sending all the 50cc huskys down the rd, to me it was just another modern day 50cc saw. That being said one of the few saws that I was impressed by last yr was an 0h26 that doc ported, pulled a 20x3/8 like a strong 60cc saw, I wouldn't mind getting one.
Both are not bad, personal preferences are also very important. Handles, balance and handling especially.
This :beer-toast1:.

I got both a MOFO 026 and a MMWS 261. The 026 impressed the crap out of me till I got the 261, but they are both good saws.
Which one has more grunt down low.
I've never owned either of those ported, but I've got 024, o26's and a 260 that I wouldn't mind having ported.
I also like the 346 ported, not a big fan of the 550 ported, they are fast, but more like a wild animal than something I can work with lol.

The 261 is clearly the stronger saw. I run 18" 3/8 square file on it w/o any problems. You grab it to limb with, then you just don't stop using it unless the bucking gets large.

The 026 has 16" .325 and does just fine with that. I call it my lightning limber, but it will not buck like the 261.

Funny story, me and a large/strong friend of mine had to run up to his property in the Adirondacks and clear a driveway and an area for his cabin. It was just a day trip, we left early and worked all day long, and the driveway has a reasonable slope. We were mostly running the 044 and a 460, but at the end of the day we each wanted to be running the 261! True story! When your arms get tired, that saw feels nice!

50cc saw good for average sized firewood and you can get into the occasional big piece if needed. Probably the most versatile size saw for the average person. Smallest saw I’ll use for production on the landing or felling is a modified 60cc saw if the timber isn’t that big. Just have to be mindful they don’t quite have the grunt the larger cc saws have and they are more sensitive of the chain not being 100%.

I hate government intervention, but after watching that idiot, I can see why it happens! Hate to say it, but it is almost surprising we don't need a license to operate a chainsaw!
I could care less if that guy cuts his leg off. Sure as hell don't need more intervention. And you know it:cool:
