You got a good price there!!
there is a huge price difference dealer to dealer on them factory tools, I've experience double price from on to the other dealer.

Do you know if there has come one updated service tool catalogue after 2014? Or maybe @Onan18 knows if there is a new catalogue?
Ummm, I want more tools :aaaaa:

Tool info
Husky was working on a new tool manual moths ago. I’ll call tech Monday and see if it is done unless someone else already has a copy they can post

Stihl
No longer making tool manual per tech. Will have to refer to service manual for tools info

This 044 that is so far 100% oem. The air filter base and covers for the chain brake will be only aftermarket parts. I am waiting on those to come in. I will have almost $200 invested. Should I buy a new oem air filter cover? I plan on selling it after it’s done.

Project- make the MOFO breath better. @drf256 I had been running a flocked 036pro airfilter and was not impressed. The filters is totally holding this saw back. There are not any decent factory offerings. I bought the Stihl winter, nylon filter and while it was a little better, I wanted more flow. I wanted it to flow like the metal mesh filters on the 034SUPER and early 036.

I modded the airfilter housing and cut out the flocking, gluing some fine screen in its place on the airfilter. The glue is a hobby based super glue used for model planes and such. Supposedly it is fuel resistant. For some reason the pics are out of order 645FB982-EF53-4AFD-A243-7EF5CC2FFC97.jpeg7FF3930E-26B4-4F36-99D0-89E9200F1C0E.jpegABB3CB84-7932-4B10-9905-9CD0FE9DCC61.jpegFB7F2127-2D04-4B52-8E5B-B74D682C1555.jpegD1C37756-4DF1-4976-B1AE-D40C98184ADF.jpeg

I'm running a winter filter and these have helped redirect air from a cleaner source

I think I’ll be doing the inside one for sure though. I appreciate the pics of that. Thanks
I hear ya on the sleeper look. I did this after the first time using the saw and found some fines inside the filter. And this was with brand new square chain limbing. I just couldn't handle it.

This has been the most pressed for time I’ve been in my life. Not sure exactly what’s happened.

Managed to get one 026 jug massaged yesterday before I did my favorite thing, make dinner for my wife and 4 daughters, 3 of whom got back from college for winter break on Saturday.

This will be the first saw completed in 2018. It’s a ground up Resto with oem bearings, etc.

A mouth watering recipe for the holidays.

Flat bread.

Pizza dough
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
Softball sized onion or equivalent
1/2 cup pumpkin seeds
1/2 cup crumbled feta
3/4 cup shaved parmesian (not ground)
Fresh black pepper to taste

Preheat oven to 450*

Oil pan well

Sauté onion in olive oil till carmelized
Spread dough
Spread oil and onion on dough
Add seeds, then feta, then parmesian
Add black pepper

Put on actual oven bottom for 3-4 minutes, or until bottom crust cooks. You will know because the flatbread will slide in the pan.

Then raise to top shelf and cook till golden brown.

Remove from oven, slide off pan onto a cooling grate. Let cool till warm enough to handle by hand, cut into whatever shape you want. Great at any temp. It has a habit of disappearing quickly.

Enjoy!

A few more o26 pics. For those of you that think I lost my OCD, sorry. The scratches in the squishband are from my final honing.

I leave squish intentionally tight because of case variation, which I’ve seen be as high as .006. I hand sand the band to desired squish as my final step.

A few pics I won’t show. Have to maintain a few trade secrets.

Here some 034S/036 pics for the portheads. Also, an old dyno graph of my Gen II porting. I’m up to GenIV, so they behave a bit differently with both more low end grunt and more top end.

The secret is in the transfers, and here are mine.
