I remember when I did my 6-10SA. All those shiny "new" parts. Got me all excited!
lol Yeah, they look better in the photos...I figured if I'm gonna use the saw I may as well not go nuts on the paint cause it's gonna get stained and scratched anyhow. Forgot a picture 002.JPG

Al - I would be very interested in seeing a photo of the handle end of that 805. I am very confused where the pop up compression relief comes through the rear shroud as I have never seen one with a provision like that.

PM800 Q port and pop up compression release - clutch covers were made for saws with or without the pop up compression release above the muffler. The clutch covers have an extra "bump" to accommodate the oversize mufflers on the 805/800/PM850 Super/DE80/PM8200

I might add in this conversation a little tid bit .In my collection of varied and assundry saws I have a 281 Husqvarna which is considered desirable .That saw and any good running 82 cc McCulloch have just about the same amount of cutting power .At the end of a day it would be hard to say which cut more .

I would assume the 281 would be more agreeable, due to the slightly larger fluid capacities, but I am assuming as I've yet to run a PM850.

Something to dream on tonight.

PM8200 Q port and no pop up compression release

The SP models have a different type of shroud and the pop up compression release coming through the top of the head and the rear shroud is cut out to provide clearance/access to the compression release.

And finally, the PM850, pop up compression release in the head like the SP models. While it has a long clutch cover, it is a different style than the ones on the later saws with the oversize mufflers.

I am very fortunate to have at least one of each of the 82cc McCulloch 10 Series saws in my possession. The PM850 Super is really like new, perhaps only one or two tanks of fuel run through it. Sad part is some of them will never get to go out in the woods with me as I have other saws relegated to that duty including a nice PM850 and another PM800 with a half wrap and several SP80 and 81 models.

The wrap handles you had reproduced, will they:
1. Fit a PM850?
2. Work with a Brake?

No, they are intended for the non-AV models only.

There are two style full wrap handles for the anti-vibe models, a wider one to fit models with the brake and a narrower, more squared off one for non brake models.

4-10 with the reproduction full wrap, this is a narrow one for the RH start saws.

I have plenty of the wider ones for the non-anti vibe 10 series LH start saws

But to the original question, the non brake full wrap for the 10 Series anti vibe saws
SP80 Narrow.JPG

The brake full wrap for the 10 Series anti vibe saws - you still have to thread the clutch cover through like a pretzel, brake handle first then twist and turn
SP80 Wide.jpg

I have may have an extra one of the wider ones for a brake in the attic. The difference between the SP and the PM versions are the two lower mounting holes, they are horizontally oriented in the SP and vertical in the PM models.

Sorry for the interruption, now back to the McCulloch PM850. I have seen a couple of others with a broken piston like I found in one of mine.

Remarkably, with a new piston that saw was a runner again.

That's an SP (80 or 81), watch closely again and see the anti-vibe working.

That is/was my buddy Phil's (RIP) SP80 after he had just replaced the condenser.

Wish I knew who has that saw now.

As to the 805 decomp valve I'm going to have to find it first .It's not out the back like most series nor is is it the same thread size .As I recall it also holds the bracket for that screwed up muffler with a screen that pops up like a chiminey . Comes out the right hand side Give me a day or two .I'll get it
