My 266 should arrive next week, starts and stops so carby kit for a start , bit ruff looking , so hopefully it all cleans up
whats the best thing to clean all the plastics on the saw , looks like crap

So you dont think i should put a Big Bore Kit on it then , put std top on it in stead
An OEM 266 top end is ten times better than any big bore kit. After market big bore kits do not have a great reputation for making power, the timing numbers seem to be screwed up on most of them.

I'd stick with the 266 cylinder. It's one of those saws that the factory just got 'right'.

was looking for replacement piston when this came up
"For purists, there are some aftermarket full skirt pistons out there. Forester is one that I know of. One thing you gotta watch though is that there are a lot of pistons out there labeled as fitting the 266/268. Many are for the open port 268, and they run like crap in the closed port saws. The one in the pic is the correct one."
have you a pic of the OEM piston and after market , so i can understand what he is talking about

This is the aftermarket 268 piston. It's made for an open port cylinder. No windows

This is the proper 266/268 closed port windowed piston. This is a meteor but oem looks the same
