Exactly. It was scuffing the piston, and smearing the bits it scuffed off in between the piston and the jug.

It will clean up easy. It's not hurt bad at all.

It has .003" clearance at the skirts, so that's not an issue.

I can clean it up with Scotchbrite. These jugs don't really matter to me anyway. We've just got to be sure they do a better job on the production run.

It's good everywhere I've checked it........and even looser at the crown, which is a good thing I believe.

I've checked it against the other new piston I have too. It seems to be spot on with that one too. It looks like this sharp port edge just polluted it with aluminum debris. It would probably have wore it in a tank or so......but that's not what we want to have happen.

So a little better fit and finish on the production units and it's a win!
I can't wait to see how one ports!!!

It is. But it's a moderate bump in performance with a higher (physically) intake floor, which is a problem when porting a oem cylinder. It's got more room for performance enhancement.
