I've checked it against the other new piston I have too. It seems to be spot on with that one too. It looks like this sharp port edge just polluted it with aluminum debris. It would probably have wore it in a tank or so......but that's not what we want to have happen.

I thought this was kind of like a pre-ported head?

It is. But it's a moderate bump in performance with a higher (physically) intake floor, which is a problem when porting a oem cylinder. It's got more room for performance enhancement.
