The 262XP is a great saw. I don’t know much about the Chinese version. Anymore I just run modern saws. As much as I love my old saws all they do is sit these days.
If i had a business to run
I'd get a couple of 372xps and a 288 lowtop off of paveen
And have them ported.
Or i have nearly new 2171 2172s i could use
Baby saws i really don't know I'd probably get a nos 262 off a friend of mine.
I tried several new 50cc saws and didn't like any of them
The china stuff is fun to mess with and i have about 40 year's of parts laying around
Bar's,chains, cylinders,carbs,coils
But no builder's
They want stupid money for wore out logger saws now

So i got some clones
I gave this one to my niece and her husband
It's been 6 year's since i put it together.

Happy Friday fellers. Three day weekend ahead…possibly four if I get a case of the fuggits.

Monday the 19th is National Hickey Day, International Tug of War Day, and National Chocolate Mint Day.

Not sure I want a visual of how you plan to celebrate those 3 things, I don't think fapping counts as tug of war?!?!

Anything heading to Animas Forks was fun too, like Corkscrew Gulch and California Pass. Ophir was ok and Clear/Crystal (can’t remember which) Lake was a fun short run. We usually camped at the KOA just outside of Ouray, but stayed at the hotel in Ouray a couple times too, and most recently we rented a house a few miles up the foothills outside of Ridgeway. That was my favorite place to stay - elk could be seen every night. We started out going over the mountain passes with Jeep’s and Blazers, even a Ext Cab F250 once. But switched to 4 wheelers for the last few times out there. We could cover a lot more ground, and everyone got to drive and have fun. Just got to be a PITA if we wanted to head into town or catch another trail with all the loading and unloading..

I always enjoyed spending more time in Silverton than Ouray. I guess I was always drawn to its rougher nature - more stuck in time, if you will. Some of my family has taken the steam engine to Durango, but I never got that chance each time we were out.

I’ve been to Telluride a few times too, mostly coming over Imogene, and once on Last Dollar. We attempted Black Bear once but there was a rock slide blocking the trail, so we turned around. My dad has since been all the way across it 2 or 3 times now in his 2012 JK. It’s been 10 years since I’ve been out that way at all.

That whole area is a cool part of the state. Two of my uncles (on my moms side) used to own close to 400 acres, in the 70's through early 90's near Ridgeway. We used to go visit when I was just a little crapstain. They sold the ranch in the early 90's when prices started climbing, I think they have regrets not keeping it. I've done some houses in the Ridgeway area for a guy I used to sub from. I really like that area.

Silverton is like stepping back in time. There's a few towns down there, just have a older feel to them, like time has not caught up yet.

Monday is heritage day here , so I’m gonna club some seals, smoke some weed and drink maple syrup flavoured whiskey, maybe play road/pond hockey afterwards
