the 441 takes same style coil as the 361 and 362 the flatter one if you have spark id almost say its the flywheel sheared

If it is the same as a 361 I have one one the bench now apart I can OHM out to compare specs to see if the coil is bad. Matt what say you want to try to compare the OHMS?

As the operator have say the saw give a blue spark so the coil is ok and if the flywheel key is in the right place
then
the carb needle have stuck or the carb needle lever have problem the saw flood the time you pull the starting cord and the saw cant start

no matter if you leave the saw upside down all night or ten days for unflooded stuck carb needle flooded the saw immediately

just my opinion

Have not touched the carb. Saw won't pop with carb cleaner in carb.

I'll pull flywheel next.

Yes ....let's compare ohms. I didn't get a specific reading on mine....but it's above 400 ohms...not a short

Ya....no joke. ..I usually get 2 when I buy parts but holy cow....

Almost worth it to part out the saw. Seems to be in nice shape otherwise.

I like the stuck carb needle idea...will pull flywheel and check carb before I spend the $168

Pull that plug and tip saw upside down, just to rule out the flooding possibility maybe? Cant remember the name of the thread but i think randy had a saw with sort of similar symptoms that ended up being a weak flywheel magnet.

Weak flywheel magnets CAN NOT GIVE YOU blue , white or violet spark specialy if you take measurements inside the cylinder the color of the spark show the condition of the system flywheel + coil and if one of theese two have problem then you dont have the above colors .

for measure the flywheel magnets you must have Gaussmeter or put some iron powder on the magnets if this powder go to the ends of magnets ( poles south - north ) then you have good flywheel magnets , if this powder stay in the midle and dont move then you have weak magnets not 100 % proove method but give you a idea
if you use Gaussmeter the higher result means the better magnet

for avoid to pull out the flywheel , turn the flywheel until the magnets is with the coil and see if the piston is in the higher position if yes then the flywheel key is ok , if the piston is down then you must see for the key

the stuck carb needle or the lever needle is a common problem that i see many times because of bad fuels , maybe the needle isnt stuck but the metering side mebrains push the lever down so the needle stay open ( leaks ) and the saw dont start
so take off the metering side carb cover conect the pressure -vacuum pump to the carb and pump some times then put again the cover and the screws but without to take off the pump if the pump hold pressure the metering lever is ok but if not the metering level is high

for the stuck needle you just see the the needle dont move easy

Heres the thread i referred to, i guess randy didnt explicitly say "blue spark", but post 11 refers to the saw having "good spark". Hard to be absolutely certain when referring to someone elses description of the quality of the spark, but arguably more difficult to definitively say its not possible to have a "blue" spark with a possibly bad FW magnet.

Where are you testing with the 2 leeds?

I have read the thread

spark measurments must taken inside the cylinder and not outside , outside is just an idea that you have spark in atmospaire you can have spark with 1000 volts and of course can be blue but inside the cylinder this 1000 volts can not start the saw

blue , whitte , or violet means higher volts and this means better coil- flywheel
red, yellow, orange means lower volts and this means not good coil - flywheel

I dont know i have only tested ones on MS 200Ts.
they only that i know is that if the multimeter make the bib noise this mean that the coil is good but i can not tell how accurate is this , for ohms i dont have idea and this is why ask
