Yeah, but the splined outers into the hubs is the part that makes you sad, unless its posi.
Had a friend with an 80 CJ7 Renegade that spun a hub. Had the 304.
We put a Currie 9" in it.
No more problems, til it burned up in a barn fire. :crybaby2:
Still gives me the sads...
Yeah they’re tough until they’re not lol. For $250 i can buy a pair of 1 piece axles for it that eliminates that problem.

Thanks for the clarification, I didn't recognize it so OOGLED it and it was showing me Morrison Lake and that was way further east than I expected. I don't know the southern basin of LotW very well but understand the general area. Which border crossing do you use? @nbbt is looking for some combi gas cans from Canadian Tire if you use International Falls/ Fort Frances. My trip is being postponed so I can't be his mule.

The little Dodge Dakota I've been messing with has a lifter noise that is getting worse. The 87 model was the first Dakota....and parts for that engine are scarce. So, I've started on a SBC build for it. .030 over 350 roller block. LT4 hot cam, and vortec heads. Should be pretty fun to drive. I was planning on taking a couple of blocks, rods, pistons, etc to the machine shop today, but the machinist called and told me to stay away. He has Covid. :(

Saw this cool DeWalt adapter that makes it possible to charge your phone and I Pad at the other job today. View attachment 370543
I have several chiner knock offs for milwaukee. Very handy units. They even have 110v adapters for milwaukee, dewalt, etc.20230323_094011.jpg

Pretty amazing. I wonder how much the increased temperature of the coolant has to do with that? I remember us running 160, and 180° thermostats and seeing much more wear.

I think the low tension rings play a part as well.
I still stand by the statement I made that the cast block 6.0 engine is quite possibly the best ever made.
If you keep oil and coolant in them they will run forever.
This one is getting a new cylinder head because the guy has the exhaust bent so bad it ended up cracking the head into the coolant passage at the rear manifold bold and the "pipe dope" on the bolt wouldn't seal it up.

Baudette crossing usually far less busy than the falls
