Couldn't agree more. On the AS, the guy woulda been lambasted and picked apart.

I offer 3 levels also.

1. Is the muffler screen clogged in this Saw?
2. Maybe the H needle needs adjustment?
3. Was this Saw ported?

I charge accordingly.

Jack is good people. Recently he was up around where I used to live cutting timber for a local logger that I've worked with in the past and they had nothing but good to say about him. The cutters I've talked to who've ran his saws also seem quite happy with them.

you forgot:

4. was the saw drugged around the dirt pile then trough the horse paddock before shipping...
dirty saws make angry men ( who other men want their saws made better)

Interesting that Jack uses full comp chain on long bars. It must perform better, but the fallers I used to talk with 25 years ago always used full skip.

It's all in how it's sharpened.

Some of the older guys prefer full comp as it creates less vibration, especially when ground with higher rakers. A long-time falling partner of mine years ago stuck with full comp on bars up to 32".
