Hi there,

I’ve had a few Zama carburettors coming in with blocked check valves perhaps due to the increased use of ethanol in our UK fuel. Diaphragm kits are readily available for Zama/Stihl carburettors but not the check-valves it would appear. Can anyone in the UK or with knowledge of companies that ship to the UK tell me where I can source Zama check valves? Many thanks in advance.

Best regards, Tony (Fultonwa)

Tony,
Anytime I need a part for a carburetor outside of a rebuild kit, I get it from the manufacturer of the piece of equipment the carburetor was on. Such as Husqvarna, I just ordered more inlet screens for 562xp/572xp carburetors yesterday from them.

Thanks Steve. I’ll look into it further but none of the Stihl suppliers here in the UK seem to offer the service parts, rather the whole carburettor aside from diaphragms. I have both the Walbro and Zama carburettor tool set so more than capable of making the repairs, just unable to get parts. An indication of the throw-away world we now live in perhaps.

Try taking a looksee here; https://www.zamacorp.com/parts-service/
and see if you can find the part number for your particular carburetor. then use your search engine to try and help you find someone who has the part to sell you.
Hope this helps, it's about all I got.

Then again, after some looking inside, I see a bunch with the saying "Must be purchased from an authorized Stihl dealer".
Seeing as Stihl owns Zama, it seems they have all the end arounds sewn up. Looks like you're back to square one I'm afraid. :(
