I was thinking maybe some of them might be a plastic mesh like they have in some oil filters.
Yeah, I have the Husqvarna helmet/faceshield/ear muffs combo and mine is the plastic. I do get the same issue with driving into the sun, but its going to be bright anyway driving into the sun. But the plastic mesh has worked great for three years now.

If you have a plastic one, let me know because I want one.
Saw your post after I posted my last one. I have the plastic shield and it works great. I use it in conjunction with safety glasses - every time something bounces off of the face shield I think "thank goodness"!!! I think this setup was about $60.

Just to update this thread, I bought one of those face shields like the one in the 1st picture; the Pyramex. I've had it a couple of days now and tried it out on two jobs using my string trimmer. I made sure that the shield was touching my chest so that I had full coverage. I'm getting stung in the face guys. I don't know what could possible be going through those tiny holes in the mesh, but it's something and it's moving pretty fast. The first 5 seconds of using the shield I tried it without safety glasses on. I immediately got hit in the eyelid. It's a good thing I decided to blink at that moment in time. The rest of time using the face shield was with my safety glasses in place. What I feel with the safety glasses in place is stuff hitting me in the cheeks, mouth and chin. I never got any of that when using my other shield with the clear plastic visor which is the one in the 2nd picture.

That one brand NoCry doesn't offer a shield with a mesh visor, otherwise I would have just ordered the visor since I already have the headgear.

By the way, the Pyramex has a 3 position front to back adjustment as well as a 3 postion tilt stop adjustment.

The NoCry does not have those two adjustments.
