One reason a BG-86 may appear easy to start is the fact its a mighty 27cc's. The little clamshell 2mix 2T strato is fairly simple as it gets. I don't think they are 'easy' to start compared to my little Japanese 25cc saws that will often start on one pull on choke if you hit the throttle when its fired. My bg-86 & bg-56 both usually take 3-5 pulls when cold starting. My Solo backpack blower starts in exactly 2 pulls every time.

I hated the way my MS029-390 started. I had to go through some crazy azz starting drill like I was starting an 064.

So I put on a 066 coil with the 4 degree retard on starting and modded the compression release to accommodate the increased compression of the pop-up piston - and now the silly thing is just a 'pull and go'. If I had a carb primer on it, it would be even easier when first starting.

I hate hard starting saws, bikes or what-evers. I would mod bike carbs to make them easier starting, and I just put new glowplugs in my diesel truck today.

I've got better things to do then fork around trying to start an engine.
