Looking for 3 blade set, each blade 16 ". For Wheel Horse 48" deck, circa 1986. Sharpening not an option, the old blades are toast. My kid left a digging bar in the middle of the lawn. 'Nuff said. "I forgot to pick it up"

I get my blades from NAPA, my business account helps on the cost. I run a 1993 48" deck with my 1997 WheelHorse 14-8. The Red Square WheelHorse forum is good source for WH info and tips. A good bunch of guys there.
I do a 25 hour service on my machine, the blades are replaced with a sharpened set at that time. I have a MagnaMatic 8000 blade sharpener in my shop, and have several sets of blades I use in rotation. Like a saw chain, a little touch up doesn't take too long and saves time and fuel.

I've got 5 or 6 sets for the 54" Toro .The very best are cut down Dixie Chopper heavy duty .Wide blades around a 1/4" thick and hard as armor plate steel .The OEM Toro blades that I've found are thin metal and narrow .One hit on an oak root will bend them and I've got big oaks galore .Heavy made with masive spindles but cheap blades ,go figure . High end mower with throw away blades is like putting recaps on a new Cadillac .

OEM and other blades I have bought for the 48" Toro/WheelHorse deck are .204" thick.
I have bent other mower blades, but not the blades I use on my WH machines. I don't stop to pick up many branches either. Lots of shaved roots in some of my "yards".
