I’m always amazed at the randomness of trade offers and over valuation of offered items but this one has to take the cake. Completely gone through 288XP with tons of new parts from the crank out, and almost no run time. This guy decided to offer me a 1986 Eager Beaver 3.7 and $100 boot. I’m not the brightest bulb in the box but I somehow don’t see that as an even trade. What’s the worst offer you’ve gotten on a saw?

People like that is why when i list stuff, mainly saws, for sale i make sure that its known the price is firm before anybody makes a trip out to see it and if they show up expecting to get it for less they're going home empty handed

One time I was selling some hunting items at a flea market, one item was a barely used and still in the box Marble's tang sight for lever actions that goes for about $150.00 new. I had it priced at a generous $80.00 and some dude wanted it really bad. He offered me all his cash, $50.00, which I politely declined. He comes back later and asks if I would trade for Nascar memorabilia. I know some Nascar stuff can fetch a pretty penny so I asked him what he had. He shows me a couple of race program driver cards of no-name drivers that were not even autographed or from a special race event. No deal, pal!

Ended up selling the tang sight to a dude in Australia who was very happy to get it, as they are difficult to find and very expensive down there.

In the same day I had a guy offer me 200 dollars and a gallon of moonshine for a ms660, and another gentleman showed up later in the day with the whole amount in cash and didnt even wanna dicker..."I just want the saw and I feel your price is absolutely fair"

Needless to say...I paid cash for the moonshine and sold the 660 for what I wanted lol

Was it good 'shine?
It was excellent. It had fresh local berries in it and it wasnt outrageously expensive. I see him now and again and snag a jar for special occasions. I can't drink much these days, so I typically avoid it all together.

Had a Mini-14 years ago, (the older one with the thin barrel). Once you fired it more than about three rounds inside of a minute or two, it went from an 1.5 MOA gun, to a 1.5 MOD (Minute of Dinner plate). I took it to a large gunshow in town, with a flag sticking out of the barrel with the price ($450), with the word FIRM capitalized and underlined.

About 2 hrs in the show, after several tire kickers looked at it, an old Gent came up and asked to look at it. I obliged and he said that it looked very nice (it was). After he handled it, he offered me a heritage arms .22 Singe action in trade, or $50 cash... I looked at Him and just asked Really? This doesn't have 100rds through it, there's not even drag marks on the bolt and slide. No thank you, I've already discounted it greatly from new, which you obviously know. I'll find a serious buyer, or it'll sit in the safe.

I walked away, and about 15 minutes later, he walked up and handed me $450... Dad was with me, and we just walked off and laughed.

The lack of accuracy in the older ones just killed the appeal of the Mini, regardless of all the good features they have.
