I've searched, bought and ran most of the saws I have ever wanted. Sold almost all of them now.
Nice to get them in the right folks hands and put a smile on their faces too. Since they are collectors and I am not. :beer-toast1:

The search then locating them is the fun part for me :campeon:. Then once they are in my hands, checked out and made cuts with its all cool and everything. Butttttt the fun is done. So I go on another search. :babeando:

A White Whale saw to me would be something extremely rare. So anything made by Charles Wolf, who was an inventor and experimenter, would be desirable. A Wolf Sawing Machine would be an incredible find in any condition.
I googled that Jacob. Not sure it was even what you are speaking of but ita definately interesting.

I like having the Stihl 070 to mess with. Reminds me of a 70's dirt bike.
I'm kicking around the 088/MS880 but have absolutely no excuse to have one other than "I don't have one". Pretty weak for that kind of $$$. I'm not a saw collector and not particularly attached to any of them.

My personal hunt wasn't for anything especially exotic, but super rare in Aus. A husky 242, stumbled on a 242g (heated handles are even rarer here as they are essentially pointless) and made about three cuts and decided it wasn't really that interesting.
It'll sit till I have a new shed and I'll give it a tidy up, but it will probably just go down the road.

I've had a couple of 090s. 084s too. The big saws ain't has fun to run as a feller might think.

I've got a fresh 3120XP now. Maybe I'll keep it.
I've had many big saws and just recently had a 084 that had never bn outside and only ran a minute or so but had never cut wood but I sold them all.

The idea of one is alluring but once you get it you notice that it's heavy and slow but worth a bunch of money so you sell it.

The saw I'm trying to find is a 066 flat top with heated handles.

Hey everyone sorry to mislead anyone I was wrong on the 044 being a 10mm its a early 12mm with angled finn. I got a private message from another member here telling me about his that he had a angled finn 12mm with the heated handle.I assumed all the angle finns were 10mm:BangHead:.I never checked the serial # till now. Just did some research to find ot where the # was located it was covered in grime. The serial # is 131915xxx .I got saw couple months back it came with a case has a lightly scored piston got a air leak needs to be torn down and redone.I never really took the time to look into it just thought it is what it is. CARRY ON

Want me to send you a Mac 35?

Hello Brother Ted!!!!!
I need to figure out how to replace the recoil rope in my Grandfather's Mac 35 and get a proper file to sharpen it's (1/2" pitch - I think) chain. It still runs pretty well otherwise and is what I learned on...

White whale for me? A MINTY 090G or 2100 Husky...

What model Homelite would fit the white whale category?
See below!

For me it would be the 1130G, 3100G or the ever elusive 770GS stick shift!

Yessssss, the 770GS..... :babeando:

Woulld like to find a KMS-4
BBB

Wouldn't we all! I hear @166 is holding them all hostage. ;)

For awhile I thought my white whale was going to be the Deere 66SV (Echo CST610EVL in yellow) but that turned out to be not so. Not only did I find one, I got THE 66SV that belonged to the fellow that was one of the first to teach me my ass from a hole in the ground around small engines. Sadly, he has passed but the saw will get a second chance at life.

Neat saws have been finding me lately. I have plenty to work on at the moment. A Homelite Model 17 has been taunting me from the corner of my shop for awhile now....

still being somewhat new to the chainsaw scene, I was wondering what some of the most collectible saws to you are. Whether it is for sentimental reasons, or pure rare collectability. One of the next big saws I want to get is a Mac 125...not super rare, but it will probably be my first full tear down, powder coat, shelf queen.
For me hands down my 2101xp and my 288 use both everyday, and my 288 was given to me by a friend, before he died. So sentime on all my saws really I get attached to them. But they are very sorry I as well.

My first big saw was a 2100cd. Was very impressed with it, and a 36" bar.
