My guess is 268 with metal brake
I with .jj 268/272It looks like a 268 with the early 266 brake assembly. It may be 272 but I'm doubting it. It also has the earlier starter.
I have a 298xp with a metal brake flag. So, they were using metal chain brake handles on the "2" series before the 300th anniversary 61 was released?

If so, that is indeed fascinating. Maybe Sawtroll can clear this up.
My best guess is early 268 XP, nice score with the full wrap and correct brake assembly.
It should have the model number label on it somewhere, left front on my Huskys..
It appears to be missing the nameplate below the oil fill cap.So, the "2" series was launched earlier than the 300-anniversary classic 61? And, earlier than the 35, the 36, and the 41 that I sold last year? This is a bit confusing to say the least. How old is OP's Husky saw? Anybody know?
300th anny was 1989 i think, lots of 2series saws before that. So, the "2" series was launched earlier than the 300-anniversary classic 61? And, earlier than the 35, the 36, and the 41 that I sold last year? This is a bit confusing to say the least. How old is OP's Husky saw? Anybody know?

Its damn near worth it for the wrap handle and brake.$155 plus shipping from Oregon.
