I'd cut the rubber off and put new stuff on when you're finished. For those of you that have done it, how do you weld the bars without scorching the rubber ?View attachment 337125 View attachment 337126 View attachment 337127 View attachment 337128

Where can I find it ?Thick glued impregnated heat shrink is the SHINNIZLE!
I've used it for HIGH $$$ custom power cables (THICK 3 conductor 10 ga wire) with excellent results.
Nice Work!!It's a little bigger od than factory and probably a little heavier but I think it came out alright. Was going to sell it and replace it with the R model but now I think ill keep it. View attachment 337158 View attachment 337159 View attachment 337160
Where can I find it ?
I did the same and covered a heated handle that had damage on a Makita 5001. Worked very well!I bought some off of Amazon. Seems like they had longer lengths available also. Search for 3:1 shrink wrap or something similar. Had many colors also, bought purple for the better halfs wood burner repairs.
