I don't know anything about waxing a car or a truck, so how is it done the paint on white truck is faded in spots and show some age so i want to improve it.
If the paint is faded, you will likely have to cut and buff the paint/clear in order to get it back to a nice luster. Wax only seals the paint from contaminates. Also, if there are contaminates in the paint before you wax, they will be sealed in as well. Your best approach is to wash the vehicle with dawn dish soap (this will strip all the contaminates from the paint), then clay bar it to remove anything that is embedded into it. I generally wash once more after this with a good car wash soap. Next, break out the DA, buffing pad and cutting compound and run over the whole vehicle. This will remove most of the fading and the bigger scuffs/scratchs in the clear. Follow that up with a polishing compound on a new pad to remove the light scratches and bring some luster back to the paint. I use Meguiar's M105 and M205 compounds for this. Now you are finally ready for a sealant or wax. Sealants last 6-12 months while wax lasts 3-4. I typically run two coats of sealant. Klass All-in-One works really well. I'll throw on a coat of wax just because I like how deep it makes black look.
Now, this may not be the best way and it surely isn't quick, but it works well for me.
If heavily oxidized i use 3m super duty rubbing compound on a power buffer with the yellow foam pad to cut the white stuff off to good paint ,then there are several waxes or glaze typed to get the buffer swirls out after and protect the paint ,carnuba waxes are generally good

Wet sanding with 2000 grit wet or dry sand paper first,Cuts down on the heavy buffing time, also this reduces the chances of over heating the buffing pad and burning through the paint.
