Honda brush cutter running string got a sudden vibration a moment or two after I hit a stump. Best I could tell it was just below the powerhead. Definitely not the gearbox. Should I inspect anything other than a sheared flywheel key, or repair/replace anything else while I have it apart?

Output axle/spindle bent, or the brush cutter attachment got a twist/wobble.

You are lucky if it's the latter.

Everything feels good on the attachment/gearbox end. I could feel the vibration at the top of the shaft when it started. Honda puts a key in that's designed to fail before the big stuff gets damaged (allegedly). Will have the flywheel off soon as I get Niners vs. Saints out of the way/

Flywheel key is good. I can feel a wobble in the assembly where the shaft inserts into the clutch cover (1).

This is why I leave stumps either 20" tall, or cut them out several inches deep under the surface.
