He found a webpage for a dealer near his girlfriend's place in Mexico that listed the 281 as 16,000(?) pesos, I think. It worked out to around $870. So, it ain't like talking down a sombrero salesman in Tijuana, unfortunately. Unknown on the 61. He's in Germany right now, so he won't be able to check the dealers around him in Mexico for a while.

Ok, back and it took a few days to digest my trip

Carrera 50 has a ton of husky and Stihl shops listed on their webpages.
The day that I had to go hunting the streets looked like this
IMAGEN-14716722-2.png

replace the cute tables with motorcycles and cars and busses puking out black smoke and not moving and driven by people who were as pissed as you would be in that situation.
and 80degrees.

I had to get the ffffffffffk out of there and head for the hills.
My hatred of crowds overcame my lust for saws.

Trucks like this are on the road and running well all over the place.
Up and down hills that make Appalachia cringe.

I did manage to find a few dealers once I got to the sticks.
I held a brand new German 660 and a new Brazilian ms382.

I do wonder if, say a Mexican sold 288 or 360 would be made in Brazil as well..?
The prices were comparable to what we would pay in the states for a new saw..

Alas, There were no husqvarna dealers in the countryside.

Once I got to Mexico for my 16hr layover, I had a look and found that there too, righteous older models are being sold new.

Ms780?
And yes 281xp are listed as available...

Looking at flights, seems like Mexico is eeeeeeasy to go to for along weekend so there might still be hope.

How is the air filter on that MS382?

The newishly released MS382 would be an interesting saw, we have the MS381 here on the shelves for sale. But the 382 I believe has spring AV, strato donk, HD style filter and the beefy strength that this series is renowned for. I'd love one!

If he is in Germany, does he go to the range and shoot some giggle switch equipped HK's?
