Here is a website that monitors the drought in the US. http://droughtmonitor.unl.edu/ You can click on a region and then click on your individual state. We are in an extreme drought here in GA and the rivers and ponds are drying up at an alarming rate. It's the driest I've ever seen it.

This is what it looked like today after I got done doing a leaf/pine needle/pine cone cleanup. I had to wear a half face respirator.

It's about as dry as I've ever seen it too. No rain in the forecast either.

If you have heard of lake Oconee, its starting to look like it did when they started flooding the place when they made it ages ago, starting to see the river and old stream channels again. Never seen so many sand bars. Lowest I have seen it in over 30 years.

Absolutely I do know Lake Oconee. I've crappie fished it several times. I live near the altamaha and it's so low that you can wade right across it in places.

Place called Blue Springs Marina, you can probably wade over to it from the lake, now has a sand bar blocking it off. I cross it every day on I-20 coming and going to work and I always see fresh dirt out there. Need a tracked swamp buggy to get around. Haven't seen a boat on it in awhile now.
