Without diving in to brand of saw, brand of chain, how to you know how many teeth you need for a longer bar? Thanks.
Put the bar on the saw, go to a dealer, let the tech make you a loop.
OR
mount bar (close to the drive sprocket), take piece of cord and “mount” on bar around the drive sprocket and bar nose ( should be fairly tight),mark on cord where cord ends match, measure length. Then divide measured length by chain pitch x 2. Should get you close
I might want to do a muffler just to annoy the neighbor who can be a jerk off at times. But do I really need the increased power? No, I just cut up an occasional downed tree, do some light limbing, and cut firewood to fireplace length.Congratulations, unfortunately, you are now about to get sucked into the abyss of chainsaw modification. The guys on this forum are consumed with the demon spirit, they will lead you into unbelievable journeys into the nether world - turn back now....
