Total light weights are out of stock until August sometime. Distributor underestimated demand and ran out so we are waiting on the slow boat to bring more in.

I still have a few 20 and 28" stihl mounts, 28" husky mount, and plenty of the 20" small husky.

I have a 24" Sugi on my 385 and like it. I also have had a couple total bars and like them ok. Kind of hard to justify the cost for expensive bars since i am just a firewood hack.

Bars are your suspension on a car, you can leave it stock and it will ride good and look pretty good. You can drop the suspension and the vehicle will handle better and look much better. If you don't want to run good aftermarket bars don't OEM is good enough for most people. But if you want your saw to look and handle, you have to pay to play. Running with the big boys isn't cheap.

I thought the point of high priced bars is due to the fact they dont wear out as fast. Looks are for shelf queens not for working mans saws. Good av system and a sharp chain mean more to the feel than a expensive bar. Btw whether oem or sugi bar, my ported 262 385 and 046 rip through the wood and feel good doing it.

They have both now. I always buy stihl mount but want an actual husky mount for my 562.

They "always" have made both options - what's available on different markets/times just is a matter of what is imported at the time for that market.

I saw a photo too of the Total being slightly lighter. I doubt that I could tell the difference between the two. I have a Light and Tough 20" 3/8 72 on my 5100s and a Sugihara 20" 3/8 72 on my 036 and the bars themselves feel about the same weight.

Different tips though View attachment 26392 View attachment 26390 Sorry that I can't answer your question about who has a Total in stock. Just offering another choice possibly.

The weight comparison will vary with the length, as how far back on the bar the lightening cutouts go varies. As I understand it, with up to 20" (or is it 24"?) the brands weight very close to the same - but with longer ones the Tsumuras usually (always?) are lighter.

The weight factor is the biggest plus for me. I went from a 20" Stihl ES solid bar to the 20" Sugi and it feels and handles like a totally different saw.

The 5100s had a 18" Total Super tip and by using the Total Light and Tough 20" it's lighter and gives me a little more reach. It's also nice to use the same chain between those two saws. It's ported so it spins that 3/8" chain easily.

I didn't weigh it before but I would guess that the 7910 is lighter with the Sugi 28" than with a 24" Total super tip I had on it perviousky. It balances better. Just my opinion.
