I know this is an old thread but just wanted to chime in and say its not that bad. I pay around 1600 a year for 1 million general liability 2 million aggregate in Nebraska. I also have full coverage on my trucks a rider covering saws/tools and a small workmans comp policy covering part time employees. Those combined cost another 3500. If you can't make $5100 in a year cutting trees you aren't doing it right:p. A person just doing it on their own could get by without the workmans comp and probably come in under 2k a year. Just my .02 besides getting a quote doesn't cost you anything.

That's not bad at all, people made it sound like it was half the job gone before you saw a penny. Thanks, Uzi.

To start up a side job in tree care is a great idea, if i do not have to deal with insurance.
